Briefed with the task of designing a Ideation Space to inspire Unilever creative teams, Huus created the ‘Sensory Concentration Space’ SCS in 2014. The small enclosure allows users to completely immerse themselves in an environment where there is nothing to distract them from the sensation of their own bodies. Providing stimulus for sound, sight, touch and smell, the interior has been carefully kept free from all distracting elements such as support frames, control panels etc.
The tent-like structure is made from 100% wool felt, which offers high levels of insulation and a soft, biophilic finish. The white material provides a neutral canvas on the inside with hidden color changing LED’s integrated into the flower form ceiling to transform the atmosphere. The environment also features felt discs that can be scented and then scattered beneath the elevated floor to increase smell stimulus and speakers are also included for sound, enabling the SCS to be individually programmed into an infinite number of combinations.
